I can't find it on their website, so maybe I got it at the TI office. Rick Steves Europe is public televisions most-watched, longest-running travel series. Rick Steves book has an extensive section on Baden-Baden but Im not certain I want to spend time there. We then want to spend 3 or 4 days in the Black Forest.

This is the "hiking" page from their website. My husband and I are in Bacharach today (Tuesday, June 14) and will go to Heidelburg (Wednesday, June 15) tomorrow. There are hiking trails all over the valley. It has a spa ( 7 Valleys Therme) with both a family friendly and an adult (textile frei) side. Bad Herrenalb is up in the Black Forest, a 40 min tram ride (S1) out of Karlsruhe.

The website is in German, but most browsers (for sure Chrome, with a right mouse click) will translate it for you. I've spent 15 nights in four trips to Bad Herrenalb. We took a really nice hike out of Hinterzarten. If you want to overnight look at Saig 79853 Lenzkirch. I found hiking to be a big thing in the northern Forest. If driving, you should check out the Black Forest High Road. Hiking seems to be the name of the game in the Black Forest, at least I see lots of trails I've also made three rail forays by day into the southern BF, twice on the scenic Schwarzwaldbahn, up the Kinzig river from Haslach to Triberg and once from Donaueschingen to Freiburg via Titisee. We (a group of 5) plan to drive from Amsterdam to Blackforest over a period of 5 days during the Easter 2019 weekend. I've spent 22 nights in the Black Forest since 2001, all of them north of Haslach. Posted by TravellingEnthusiast (Netherlands) on 03/10/19 07:49 AM. The Black Forest has the same amount of cute towns as the Romantic Road does, though the Half-Timbered Route has even more. Pick out which towns you want to see in both areas to make your decision. I would definitely recommend spending time in the Black Forest. It is just a route that connects certain towns.
